on saturday (after harry potter was delivered) we hopped into the car and drove to costco. (hahaha, you thought i was going to say nagasaki, didn't you!) we bought avacados, tostidos chips, jalepeno cheese bread, HOT salsa and muffins. THEN we drove to nagasaki, to visit internet friends. it was the first time for us to meet in person, and so far my record is 1.000. cool. we had a great time, so great in fact that as we were leaving yoshi kept asking me, 'did they enjoy, too?' as if we were the only ones who had fun!

we visited jan, a lovely woman from washington (just like me!) who has three kids and a handsome husband (who was very busy but did enjoy playing with hiroyuki, just like anyone else!). jan's two younger kids just loved playing the baby and were so impatient every time he was sleeping. they had to keep on checking to make sure he was still asleep and couldn't play with them. jan's daughter was also an excellent babysitter. she came with us to the minshuku when we had dinner (it was included in the price whether we ate it or not, so...but i was soooo full! i had eaten so much guacamole and chips at jan's--plus she was going to make enchilladas when we got back) though the lady who served us dinner was also enchanted by hiro. (i'm starting to see a pattern here....)

it was a really great visit especially because we could just sit around and talk! (and gossip! LOL) and so, here are some pictures:
