yesterday i had to go back to my japanese lesson's school because i forgot something there. usually i would wait until next week but we're not having a lesson because yoshi hiro and i will be doing something (don't know what yet.) anyway, it's an hour and a half away by car so when i got there i wasn't in a real hurry to go back home. my teacher's sister owns the school, she teaches english. most of her classes are taught by native speakers of english, so she had some free time while i was there. first i fed hiroyuki and then we played. when he started fussing (because he was sleepy) we headed home. (i swear, he was asleep before the car left the parking lot.)

on the way home it started to rain. a few drops, no big deal. but then it was like the clouds descended on the road! i could hardly see the cars in front of me. most of us slowed down and turned on our lights but of course there were a few assholes driving, too. most notable was the transport truck who kept splashing my windshield effectively blinding me! gah!

it was raining so hard that i was concentrating on my driving before i remembered: i left the laundry out that morning! oh NO!! then, when i was almost home i remembered: i left the windows open upstairs!! GAH!! especially the one window, it faces south and the wind and rain just come right in. i started thinking about the futons and how i would have to prop them up and use the fan on them. i also HAD to go to the gas station so it was just going to be that much longer...

when i was getting gas the rain eased up considerably--and hiro woke up. we drove home and i noticed my neighbors' cars hardly had any water on them. i seriously lucked out--it hardly rained here!! yay!! for once things went my way. phew. i was really dreading going to the laundromat...
