...and tuna fish for lunch.
last weekend, yoshi went to his parents house. his cousin was getting married and his aunt from tokyo flew in to go to it. so, since we live near the airport, yoshi picked her up and took her to his parents' house on saturday. on sunday his mother and aunt went to the wedding (apparently on one else his family was invited. that's typically japanese). then yoshi took his aunt back to the airport on monday. i am sure that they enjoyed some family time together and maybe even an onsen or two, but it left me home alone with little hiro for two nights and i was exhausted! we didn't have the car you see, so we pretty much stayed in the whole time. when yoshi got home on monday afternoon i went out by myself. of course, i went to the coin laundry to dry some clothes, but it was so nice to go out and not have a little one hanging on me and whining...
anyway, since we were home alone, i decided to make pancakes for breakfast on sunday morning. i had a box of bisquik that i had brought from the US; those pancakes were the best i've had in some time! we both ate them in the kitchen, hiro on the floor and me standing up (yoshi would not have approved! ha) but we had to eat them nearly as soon as they were done since the kitchen was so cold. yum.
then, for lunch i had a craving for tuna fish sandwiches. so, i made some! even hiro enjoyed them although i had put onion in the mix. it's funny, i didn't have any tuna fish sandwiches when i was back home, but my first week in japan...
well, we survived the weekend, but then yoshi told me this morning that he has to spend tomorrow and the next day in kagoshima! ack, how am i going to make it??

Tuna...nope, I don't have a taste for that! :) I think it's the mayonnaise. :)
well the answer is obvious.. come to Kagoshima with yoshi and come hang out with me!!! :-)
christine: i buy 'american' mayonnaise. i can't stand japanese (but love the american type too much...)
midori: i would love to! hopefully next time yoshi drives down i can convince him to take us. the only thing is, he doesn't really work anywhere near the city...
hehe
sounds EXACTLY like me hehehe
I eat the tuna right out of the can, no mayo just a sprinkle of pepper and right now my cook urr husband is working nights so I have been living off of boiled vegies dumped out of the frozen bags.
yup I am pathetic.
I like tunafish made with avocado and a little mayonnaise-yum!
found you through andrea....love the blog.
are you able to get bisquick in japan at all? i make great ham and cheese muffins with bisquick. i think i have the recipe on my blog somewhere.
hugs
caligirl: i am sure i can get bisquick in japan, though probably through the internet. which = expensive. so i don't. not that paying for a ticket home isn't expensive. it's just that...if i'm going home, might as well get some bisquick, right? LOL
thanks for stopping by, glad you like the blog!
