i finished my first knitted baby blanket yesterday! it's for tommy. i only just learned to knit, so that's why it's 'late'! haha
it was really quite easy, just a bit time-consuming. i can see why blankets are usually crocheted and not knitted. but this is small enough to keep one from going nuts with all that knit knit knit purl purl purl. the edging is seed stitch and the body is a basket weave. i used a 100% wool yarn and it's so soft and warm!

What a beautiful job you did on the blanket! : )
It's lovely!
Looks beautiful! I love the yarn you used!!!
I really like basket weave stitch and really want to make a baby hat from it- do you think it would be hard to knit basket weave stich in the round?!I suppose I could just try...
Great job!!!
Wow. Looks amazing and I bet it feels great, too. And think- even if you'd made it for a newborn he would have been oblivious. :)
Great job on the blanket!! :) I know how long those take to knit and how hard they can be. It looks wonderful! :)
Great job! Love the colours:)
thanks everyone!
lulu, i don't think it would be hard to knit until you had to reduce. i'd be worried it would look weird on top...
