well, we survived hiro's first week of school. i think he's doing well. case in point: when he got on the bus this morning, one of the little girls already sitting down wanted him to sit next to her! 'hiro-kun! hiro-kun!' she called to him (of course, it took him a few seconds to register that she was calling to him, he was concentrating on sitting in the seat he's sat in for the past three days) but he sat next to her. i thought it was sweet! and when he came home, there was a note from a girl in his book bag! i have no idea who she is, but she wrote his name, and hers, and then there's a couple of sentences (obviously written by an adult) that say, let's eat lunch together, let's play together! aaawwww!
this afternoon wasn't quite as bad as the previous few days, but hiro did push me when i told him to do something he didn't want to do. he also pushed sasha when she made him mad. i have never noticed him pushing before, so i wonder if he's been pushed, or saw someone pushing someone else. i hope he's not pushing his classmates!
tomorrow the two older classes at yochien are going to the elementary school next door for some event, so next monday is a 'holiday'. three monday holidays for hiro this week! lucky him....

How fun for your little one to be starting school. He looks adorable. I came upon your blog from the Scribbit blog (from Alaska). Hope you don't mind.
How did you end up in Japan??
He probably did learn the pushing at school from other kids. We haven't had any big trouble, but DD has learned a few things that I wasn't happy about and put a stop to immediately. I am worried her little brother is going to be the one teaching all the other kids bad things when he gets to school. Must brush up on my super formal polite begging for forgiveness japanese.
