after golden week, the kids switched to their summer uniform. seems a bit early to me, especially this year when it's been pretty cool and fairly rainy. but....eh, whatever. finally got pictures uploaded. bonus golden week photos at the end (aren't many, i was too busy to take pictures this year.)

Just gorgeous! What an elaborate uniform though. Do they change into something else to play in at kinder or is that what they wear?

You can all come and be boring at our place :) We could do a mini version of what you do at Golden Week - minus the thousand year old temple bit :) We could book you into to the log cabins up in the hills for a couple of nights - purely for sleeping and onsenning mind you - and during the day you could all come and run naked through the sprinklers (kids) while drinking wine (us) and BBQing (men).
When Shou goes to yochien next year he only has a yellow hat and a blue shirt. Does Sasha stay in hers the whole day? Here they seem to take their shirts off when they get there and wear normal clothes before putting them back on before coming home.
Just so CUTE!! I hope when we move to Japan in 2011 I get to meet your little ones in person..so cute! And again, you are such a great photographer !

the uniform is what they wear and use at school, they don't change at all. the summer one is a little more simple than winter: over-blouse/shirt with tie, shorts or skirt and the white hat. usually they wear their sports outfit (which they just wear to school, no changing involved) which is just a shirt and shorts. during summer they're practicing for the undokai (last year it was in july but for some reason i think it's going to be in october this year) so they don't actually wear the summer (blue) uniform very much anyway.
She is SO adorable! She looks like a little doll or something. :) Love the pics. She's so happy :)

sasha is beautiful in the second to last photo. the sun and her hair and her smile, it's gorgeous. and i LOVE the look on hiro's face in the photo on him! it's sassy!
She's so beautiful! Great pix! Do they at least cover up with smock or something once they get to school? With such a light color I'd think it would be a nightmare to clean!
