yeah, big surprise, right? who likes change? i am so disappointed that bloglines is disappearing (though it's still around and it was supposed to be gone forever on october 1). i'm so used to it! *whine* i hate google reader. *whine* am i ever going to get used to it?! i especially hate that it's all top to bottom, whereas bloglines had the blogs on the left and the reading space on the right. *sigh* ok, ok, i'll get over it, but i'm not going to be happy for a long long time.
watch this space for goey love poems toward google reader, in maybe 2 months. or maybe a heated wrath post. who knows.
stupid ask.com
(am i really so behind the times that no one uses RSS feeds any more? it's all facebook and twitter, or so i'm told. but i don't want to promote my blog on twitter. harumph. and facebook is EVIL, EVIL i tell you! you won't see me posting pictures or any type of link to my blog there. maybe a link to my flickr stream but not my blog. it's EVIL!)
(PS, get offa my lawn!)
EDIT:
YAY HAPPY DANCE, BLOGLINES FOREVER!!!! I AM SO HAPPY I DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE. :P

I was really sad when they said bloglines was closing as it's always been my favourite too :( Does that mean it's back?
I have switched to google reader but its just not the same, for exactly the reasons you wrote.
it looks like a new site has agreed to take over bloglines. i don't know this site, but i hope it's a good one!
I don't like Goggle Reader either so I don't use anything, just read the blogs as the come onto my dashboard. I'm glad that you don't have to switch, nothing worse than being mad to do something you don't like!
Well take comfort that I'm even lower tech than you- I have no idea what you're talking about!
I don't know what an RSS feed is.
I open blogs from my dashboard like Anchan, but I recently found google reader and thought it was quite convenient, I guess blogline must be way better or something. But the google reader I was using had the list of blogs at the left and the reading pane on the right...
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and basically it collects new information that's added to sites. so, for blogs, whenever a new post is up (or even when a post is edited). sites like bloglines and google reader allows you to collect your favorite feeds in one place.
rachel, google reader is so confusing. i cannot figure out how to configure it or change it in any way to make it user friendly. :( i can only get the top to bottom way of reading the posts and it's all mixed up (i think you can group blogs together in folders or something, and that would help (i guess), but i just can't find how to do that! it shouldn't be that difficult to use!)
