hiro almost got hit by a car today. i had gone to costco and he didn't want to stay in the stroller. i let him help me push the stroller to the car, and while i put something in the car, he wandered off. i swear, it was thirty seconds, and when i turned around, he was gone! i looked around and said, 'hiro?' then i went around the car and there he was, walking between the cars. the thing is, to his right, a car was backing into a space! he's so short that the driver couldn't see him. i shouted, 'HIRO!' and ran after him. thankfully, he was walking in a straight line and didn't walk behind the backing car or into the car, or fall down under a wheel, but omg, i didn't know he could disappear so fast.
so, i put him in his car seat, drove to toys r us, and bought a baby harness.

Ji is a wonderer as well, i have seriously considered the harness!! she has a rule that she is not allowed to walk (she alwayus wants to) unless she is holding someones finger. it started at daycare and Li and I have been enforcing it. keeps my mind at sligtly better ease. lol
I need to get a baby harness as well. Joey nearly fell into the pit where I park my car as I was raising it up today.. not good!
Sorry I missed your call earlier, I was teaching. Will call you in the morning!
yeah, he doesn't like the hold our finger rule, and it's hard to explain. and i figure, once the next baby is here, i just might want the older one on a leash. poor kid.
Can I tell you how many times that almost happened to me in Japan???
I`m not sure I managed to impress on my kids that cars are dangerous, but somehow I got it into their heads that if they weren`t very still and obedient around moving vehicles, Mama would go ballistic.
