i really do. don't get me wrong, they're convenient. maybe a little too convenient! why is it EVERY time i want to withdraw a little cash, someone (or more than one) is there doing world financial transactions, moving money from one account to another, across the globe and back again??? all i want is twenty dollars!

i know why, really i do. it doesn't help that the banks have, well, banker's hours. what's the point of closing at 3 p.m.? please answer me that! why open at all? probably because the ATMs can do the job. also, these days, so many of these transactions can be done on the internet!! jeez. (for the record, i wasn't even there during lunch hour...)

i know, it's just bad timing. this is the time of month that many people get paid here in japan. and it was just my rotten luck that the line i chose (there were two ATMs) just happened to be the one where everyone in front of me had to move cash to pay the rent, gas bill, water bill, etc. instead of withdrawing a measly two thousand yen. *sigh* and don't even get me started about standing in line in japan....
