yesterday i went to kashiihama for some relaxed time in air conditioning. thankfully hiro fell asleep just before i got there, and actually slept in his stroller for more than two hours! yee-haw! so, i got a manicure (not a full one, just filing and some color), window-shopped and finally sat down at starbucks and worked on cross stitch.

after i made my appointment at the nail place, i had fifteen minutes to kill. i decided to go to toys r us (we're nearly out of bubbles). walking through the mall, these two little old ladies hurried up from behind to get a peek at hiro. this really irritates me, but what can you do? yes, the gaijin has a baby (child). awww, isn't he cute. plus i'm pregnant so they're all, oh, tanoshimini! (aren't you looking forward to another one!) *sigh* i guess i could try to be flattered, but to be honest i don't think my son/children should be 'on display' for japanese people (ok, let's be honest: old ladies) can coo over them and say how cute and 'haafu' they are...

anyway, at starbucks my cross stitch got some attention, too. that hasn't happened for a while. that is flattering. perhaps because the cross stitch is a thing, not a person, and well, i've been working on that russian sampler for about 15 years now....oh god! LOL
