there's a cicada on the tree in our garden droning on and on. this year there seems to be LOADS of them, it's so noisy. we've also had three leave their shells in the front yard...must have been a cicada-boom seven (or whatever) years ago...

this morning a honey bee was buzzing the window to the bedroom and driving me crazy with the noise. it sounded like a mosquito right next to my ear. so...i closed the window and the crazy thing found the other open window! argh! so, i closed that one too, and was able to relax until the room grew too hot.

damn! i think there are two cicadas on the tree! it's so loud! i wonder where i can escape to today. i'm thinking kashihama...

we had a nice weekend. the BBQ on saturday was nice. i forgot the camera, again, but really, what's so interesting about seeing pictures of japanese people eating. LOL although their house was new and it was so interesting to see how close the houses were built together. the house we're renting is close, but it has a decent sized garden and there's more that two feet between the neighbors' house and ours.

today (monday) is yoshi's brother's birthday, so yoshi invited him over yesterday for lunch. we went to andante. afterward i wanted to go to baskin robbins, but i'm the only one who had ice cream! men! (hiro fell asleep, i'm sure he would have wanted some if he were conscious.) yoshi did buy an ice cream cake for his brother, though, which was very nice on a hot summer's evening.
