no time for me

i tried to go out this evening before the kids were in bed, but i was only gone for about 40 minutes when yoshi called and the kids were crying. *when* will they be able to go to bed without me?!?

That sucks so bad. The worst is when you're just unwinding and getting ready to enjoy your me time when you get THAT call. ;_;
With my two we have eased painstakingly slowly into me going out at night. At first it was me doing all the stories and tucking in and goodnights but once the lights were out then Daddy was on duty and mummy was out of order in the bath. Then we just gradually did the mummy daddy switch earlier and earlier in the process.
HTH 'cause it sounds like you deserve about a week of tropical island paradise let alone an hour on your own!
We got home from the in-laws late last night and hubby announced he was on his way to the public bath! I said some warm words about, when do I GET SOME TIME for ME today?!?!? But, I was so tired, I crashed with Jun.
Daddy putting Jun down is still in our future, I guess.
Wow. You are a nicer wife/mother than me. When we have problems like that my reply is always, "Deal with it!" I feel kind of sorry for the kids sometimes as their father can be such an incompetent bumbler, but they always manage to survive without me in the end.
yeah, i spoil the kids, and yoshi, a lot! *sigh*
