friday was photo friday at crazy hip blog mamas. obviously i missed it. but i wanted to share this photo anyway. here's hiro enjoying the surf with his uncle takafumi.



very hot and humid here now. rainy season is in full swing. though it hasn't rained today since early this morning. that's good for my plants, though, because i should water them morning and evening. that may seem excessive, but it's so hot and sunny here. especially in our bare garden--we have no bushes and very few trees. ah, the joys of a new garden.

today yoshi's parents came over and now the five of them are out. i do enjoy time alone!

last weekend we went to the beach with yoshi's brother and his wife. we had a nice time. hiro fell asleep in the car, so we first went to a little burger shop. we had hamburgers and fish burgers. it was nice. hiro slept through it. then we went to the beach and hiro woke up. he was in a bad mood for a while and was afraid of the water. he got into it after a while. here are some pictures:
