(why yes, i've been watching hell's kitchen...)
tommy's bedtime routine has changed, and not for the better. he doesn't want to go to bed by himself any more, and now he can climb out of his bed. but he doesn't know how to go to sleep with everyone else (wants to play, touch and shout). hiro and sasha don't want him, either. makes for a very difficult bedtime, especially if yoshi isn't around. if yoshi is here, he takes tommy (well, that's the idea anyway) and i get hiro and sasha asleep. then we work on tommy. but if yoshi isn't here, well, we suffer until he gets home. it sucks. i can't WAIT for this to pass....

Awww, I feel for you! M has just lately started playing up at bedtime, I'm hoping she doesn't keep it up!
How are you watching Hell's Kitchen? Is it the UK one with Marco?! (swoon)
The bedtime battle with two is enough to send me to drink- I can't imagine three! @_@ Stay strong and maybe DIY some extensions on the cot this weekend? ;P
I was just about say that the battle is bad enough with two so how you stay even a tiny bit sane with three is beyond me!Hope things start to improve soon(ie form tonight!)
anchan, i've been watching the newest US season (season 6, i think) via torrent downloads.
Oh crap! And he's been so lovely so far...well hopefully this is his big hiccup, and his natural laid-back self will re-assert in a few weeks.
Technically you have enough 'sides' for three - left, right, and right on top...
Hope tommy gets sorted into a better sleep routine soon. Keep us posted as you are my 'in one years time' guage. Marina is still in her cot and can't get out yet - but I have turned it round so the side wont lower. Means I have to really lean in!!
That sounds so tough. I only have one little guy to deal with and he is only 10 months old. Now I put him to bed with us "snuggling" (aka. holding him down so he doesn't try pulling himself up against the wall all night long). But I wonder if this is a good technique...what will I do when he is big enough to crawl out of bed on his own? There's so much pressure here (Canada) on sleep training and "teaching" your baby how to put themselves to sleep (which is basically the cry it out method). I've tried to avoid most of it though. Do you feel that in Japan or is it just "whatever works"?
We tire Lucy out by playing fetch in the dog run. It makes the pup pooped. I think you can apply this to children.
You poor thing. My first daughter had a hard to time going to bed. I would have to lay with her until she feel asleep and some times it took hours! Eventually, it passed and she's really good at sleeping by herself now. Hang in there!
I only have 2, so I think you're pretty darn fantastic for handling your 3 lovely kiddos. I think you're amazing.
I like the US version of Hell's Kitchen but have yet to try out the place you use. I'll give it (torrent downloads) a shot. Thanks. : )
