It looks like so much fun and I am not even a horse person. Did you do it locally?
I saw the other photos to from the other day and you got some great shots- loving the colour/contrast. Do you use the auto function on your camera or do you play around with the features (I am an "auto" girl mostly. haha)
the pony rides are in a big park in kitakyushu (one you have to pay an entrance fee for).
i mostly use 'apeture' mode, which gives the lovely bokeh (blurry backgrounds). as for color, i adjust for white balance (although sometimes i forget to do it...) and for auto focus i have it set to 'dynamic area'.
sometimes while out taking pictures, if i remember, i will adjust the focal point (or do i mean f-stop?) and also the ISO which (i think) is shutter speed. i am no expert and have plenty to learn, but i think if you adjust the one, you may have to adjust the other, esp. in low-light situations.
the pictures in the previous post of tommy and sasha feeding the ponies, the camera was set at AUTO, because i handed it to someone else to take the pictures.
just a bewildered american woman stuck in japan with a husband, a boy, a girl and another little boy. if you find my sanity, you can keep it. i don't think i would know what to do with it now!

It looks like they had a ball! I always loved riding a pony when I got the chance as a kid. I'm sure they won't forget it!
What a great set-up with the horse rides. The kids sure look like they are enjoying it - how cute are they riding the horses!!
